Various lighting situations and other topics in the camera's Operating Manual will be explained. This workshop is the forerunner to another workshop "Personal Photo Management" in which you will venture out of the computer lab to take pictures of local interest. You then return to the lab for detailed instruction on how to download the photos to the computer, manipulate the images and save your photos in specific folders for easy retrieval.

Free Windows Live Workshop
Spend an hour or two to learn what Windows Live offers the computer user. The program is free. It gives you e-mail and the ability to make movies from your photos and your videos. It also provides many basic photo editing tools and free off-site storage of photos for viewing of your photo albums by friends and relatives.
Fundamentals - Computer Basics
Welcome to your first computer course. This course is designed for students with no computer experience. During each session, you will practice extensively using the mouse and the keyboard. You will gain familiarity with computer hardware, software, the Windows desktop, and the program windows. This is a fun course and you will learn not to be afraid of your computer.

On Line Photo Scrapbook
Have fun with your photos. Learn to easily upload your photos and create scrapbooks, calendars, posters, coffee mugs and other fun things for you, your family and friends. Once the final product is printed, it can either be shipped to your home or picked up at any Walgreen's store.

In this workshop, you will be shown how to use your printer and scanner. A demonstration will be given as to how to scan an image to your computer, save it as a file, and then send it in an e-mail. Various printers and their features will be covered; also, tips for what to look for when purchasing a printer or scanner will be identified.

Explore the ease of using Quicken to balance your personal checkbook.
Research on the Internet
Learn the secrets of finding information to research a subject. Narrow the subject requests to pinpoint your specific subject, and eliminate much of the information that doesn't apply to your 'search.' Learn to use the various search engines that have a connection to your search request.
Right Click with Your Mouse
Explore the properties of the mouse and customize it for your personal use. Discover how using the right mouse button can make a variety of tasks easier and faster.
Share Your Photos

Windows Live Movie Maker Workshop
In this workshop, you will learn how to create a 'digital' movie (slideshow) with photos of family or friends, add your favorite music to the 'movie' and burn it to a CD. The software used to create the movie is a free download.
Windows Live Photo Editor
Using the new Windows Live software program, learn to edit your photos, remove 'red eye', crop pictures to enhance your images, and adjust the color saturation of the picture to reflect true lighting.
Worthwhile Websites
This workshop will explore how to find informative websites, such as medical, travel and retail issues. Knowing HOW to effectively search the web saves time. Students will be given the listing of websites covered in the workshop to take home.
