Do you have difficulty finding a file or photo on your computer? You know you saved it somewhere, but now cannot locate it. In this course, learn how and where to save your data, how to copy it, move it, and delete it. Some computer experience is required.

The practice of gathering, organizing and reporting information about one’s ancestors and relatives has been greatly changed by the continuing development of powerful computers and software and by the increasing information available on the Internet.  Experience with computers and with the internet is required.

Introduction to Computers Part I - The Fundamentals
Welcome to your first computer course. This 3-session course is designed for students with no computer experience. During each session, you will practice extensively using the mouse and the keyboard. You will gain familiarity with computer hardware, software, the Windows desktop, and the program windows. This is a fun course and you will learn not to be afraid of your computer.

In this class, you will learn what is causing the problem and how to eliminate unwanted software, ‘cookies’, deleted files and other unused programs. Computer security will also be explained.  Routine maintenance procedures will be covered, along with a schedule of how often to perform these tasks.

Research on the Internet
Learn the secrets of finding information to research a subject. Narrow the subject requests to pinpoint your specific subject, and eliminate much of the information that doesn't apply to your 'search.' Learn to use the various search engines that have a connection to your search request.
